Psychotherapy for Individuals and Families
Individual Therapy
I would be honored to provide a space devoted to your healing and growth. I can support you with anxiety, trauma, grief, existential concerns— as well as finding the fullest expression of your authentic self. I have a special passion for supporting those in recovery from relational wounding, such as narcissistic abuse or emotional neglect. You can learn more about my work with this kind of complex trauma here.
The treatment modalities I use depend on your unique goals, but in my practice I most often use Parts Work (informed by IFS), Brainspotting (a somatic modality related to EMDR), Mindfulness, and Re-Parenting. I work somatically to increase awareness of what’s going on with your body and nervous system. When your whole body becomes a resource and ally, deeper healing is possible. I believe that everyone is capable of healing under the right conditions, and everyone deserves the chance to do so.
Humans are social animals, wired to live in connection with others. The quality of our relationships can, in large part, determine the quality of our lives. Whether you are embarking on a new significant relationship or have developed patterns with a partner or family member for years, joint counseling can help you untangle miscommunications, develop more empathy for one another, and strengthen your bond. And in some cases, therapy can help you separate respectfully and peacefully.
In order to better support couples and families, I have received additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples, Non-Violent Communication (NVC), and am informed by Attachment Theory.
I have significant experience supporting the repair of adult child/parent dynamics, when miscommunication or past trauma continues getting in the way of closeness. And I especially enjoy working with non-traditional families, whether you belong to the LGBTQIA+ community, or are in a blended family with stepchildren. When we let go of heteronormative scripts, there’s a wonderful opportunity to invent new ways of functioning and thriving as a family. I would be honored to support you in that process.
